A Nikon D3 has joined our gear. Well-known for its outstanding low-light capabilities, this body will be very welcome for all our high-Iso work. This camera is also a solid allrounder and the qualities of its files never ceases to amaze us.

We have acquired a Nikkor AF-S VR 200-400:4G. We hesitated between this new lens and the AF-S 500:4G but chose the flexibility of the zoom which we found very helpful during our namibian and south american trips.

We will also soon purchase the 3rd version of the 1,4x extender which should make a nice combination with the 200-400 lens for added reach.

Our namibian dune picture has just won the "picture of the week award" on the luxemburgish photo website !

This picture was taken from the road from Sossusvlei to Sesriem at the end of the afternoon, using a Nikon D3 camera and AF-S VR 200-400:4G lens rested on a beanbag. Taking a sharp picture was a real challenge because of the blowing wind hitting the large lens from the side, resulting in a shaky viewfinder. For added sharpness, we even removed the front filter from the lens.

We have added a Nikon D2x to our arsenal. This body will be used mainly for increased reach thanks to its DX crop factor of 1,5x. It should make a nice combination with our Nikkor AF-S VR 200-400:4 lens.

The Nikon D2x series is also well known for the image quality at the base Iso 100 and the rendering of skin tones.
